Cinergy Health – Affordable Health Plans Available to Everyone

Cinergy Health is an insurance company based in the state of Florida but with offerings available to people all over the country. People who have no health insurance, or a very high deductible plan, often put off medical care, as they are unable to afford such luxuries. Cinergy Health offers limited benefit medical plans that are available to everyone, so that is not a course of action that has to be followed.

What are Limited Benefit Insurance Plans?

The limited benefit health plans offered by Cinergy Health are designed to provide coverage for the predictable medical care that people need most often. They are designed to be alternatives to, not replacements for, major medical health insurance. A major medical plan charges a higher monthly premium to offset the risk of large, catastrophic claims. If a person holds a Cinergy Limited Health Plan and decides to change to a major medical plan at some point it is easy to do so, as the Cinergy Health plans are considered “qualified credible coverage” and comply with HIPAA requirements.

Who Is Eligible for a Cinergy Health Plan?

The health plans offered by Cinergy were designed to be an answer to the needs of the forty seven million Americans who live without health insurance in the United States. There are those who cannot qualify for a major medical plan, or simply cannot afford the premiums monthly. These plans are considered “guaranteed issue” so an individual will not be turned down because of a pre existing condition.

What Do these Plans Cover?

Cinergy Health offers two different limited benefit health insurance plans, the Preferred 500 and the Preferred 1000. Both plans are guaranteed issue and cover the same basic services. The difference between the two is that the 1000 plan will pay a higher dollar amount for certain services such as routine doctor visits. Both plans cover services such as surgery and maternity benefits at the 80% Medicare rate. Even those who have a major medical plan are subject to co pays, so it very well may be that those insured under Cinergy Health plans will pay only a little more out of pocket than they would with an HMO plan.

What about Dental and Prescription Benefits?

A prescription drug discount is included with the Cinergy Preferred 1000 plan, but is not a part of the Preferred 500. Neither plan carries a dental benefit, as these are plans designed to cover regular medical services only.
